Class Trip to Dublin

From October 3rd to 7th, our English LK was off on a class trip to Dublin, Ireland. After an early start, we flew from Frankfurt am Main to Dublin. Once we had arrived, we jumped right into a three-hour city tour. Even though we were a bit tired, the tour gave us a great first impression of the city and its mix of history and charm. That evening, we settled into our cozy accommodation and enjoyed a nice meal together.

The second day was all about history and learning. We visited the Irish Emigration Museum, which turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. It was super interactive and engaging, and we learned a lot about Irish emigration in a way that was both fun and fascinating. In the afternoon, we explored Trinity College, Dublin’s most famous university. Founded in 1592, it is full of history, and the highlight was definitely the Old Library. While we expected it to have more books on display, the building was still impressive, and we took some great photos there.

On the third day, we got to experience Dublin’s beautiful coastline. We went on a three-hour hike along the sea, surrounded by stunning views and pretty nature. It was super windy, which made it even more fun (and challenging!), but we all agreed that the fresh air and the scenery made it worth it.

The fourth day gave us the freedom to explore Dublin’s museums. In the morning, we toured a historic ship replica of the Jeannie Johnston, which was an important part in Irish emigration and gave us another interesting perspective on Ireland’s history. Afterward, we had the chance to choose a museum to visit, like the Museum of Modern Art or the National Gallery. This gave everyone the opportunity to dive into Dublin’s art and culture, depending on their interests.

The fifth day marked the end of our trip. After packing up, we boarded our flight back to Frankfurt.

The trip was a mix of culture, history, nature, and fun. Whether we were hiking, visiting museums, or cooking and spending time together in the evenings, we had so many moments to bond as a class and explore a new country.

All in all, Dublin was full of surprises and unforgettable experiences, and we came back with a lot of great memories (and probably a ton of photos!). It was the perfect trip to learn, laugh, and enjoy time together.

Class trip to Dublin

First of all, I would like to thank our school and especially Mrs. Lubeley and Mr. Stein for organizing such an awesome trip to Dublin.
It was a really fun experience to have a flight with almost the whole class present. I must say that this trip was the highlight of my whole time in school.
We went sightseeing and learned a lot about Ireland’s history, especially about the potato famine.
Being in an English-speaking country was a bit challenging, however, this was helped a lot as we could freely speak English with fluent English speakers, which helped to build up self-confidence in our English skills.
Free time in Dublin was a real blessing, we had a lot of fun hanging around outside and exploring the city.
All in all, a class trip to Dublin is something I would recommend to every other English class.
I am really happy we can all share the memory of this exciting experience.
